Valeria Giardino, actual post-doc with Roberto Casati and recently selected for a Marie Curie Fellowship, will present her work on Diagram Based Reasoning on the 11th of January, 11.30 am - 1 pm. The seminar will take place in the new seminar room (ground floor, Pavillon Jardin). 

Abstract : 

I will present my research project selected for the Marie Curie Fellowship. This project concerns diagrammatic reasoning, and pursues more precisely the two following objectives : 

(1) evaluating the cognitive advantages there are in using diagrams

(2) constructing a classification of the different types of diagrams

 

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

The Doctoral and Post-Doctoral seminar Doc'in Nicod will start from January 2008. It aims at bringing together PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and researchers from (and around) Nicod, and enabling broader interactions between them. ( Note that it will substitute for the usual PhD Day) 

To fit in the intense business of Nicod,  it may take place at different days and times (mostly tuesdays and fridays though). An announcement will circulate about a fortnight before the talk; the exact timetable and titles will also appear on this website.
